Missions: Update in Southeast Asia

The new school year has started at Yangon Grace Fellowship Bible School with a total enrollment of 46 students. Most Bible schools in Yangon are not nearly so large so the staff feels particularly blessed this year. Students at this school are supported entirely by donation by those who appreciate the value of educating young people and encouraging them in their faith walk. Currently, the school has received sufficient donations to provide for 2-3 months of care for the students.

John Lain Be sends report of 13 newly baptized members of his church in Rachine State. We praise God for the success of John’s evangelism in the remote parts of the country. In John’s area, too, work has begun on a building that will house about 40-50 young men who are pursuing their secular education. This building will be called “the House of Solomon” and will function as a Christian boarding school where young men and women can get a secular education and have godly character developed in them at the same time. The building will generate income from student tuition that can be used to help support pastors in the area. It will also serve as a local church in which neighboring villages can be evangelized.

The Spirit of the Lord is actively moving across Myanmar. The gospel of Jesus is being shared with those who have not had the chance until now to hear. Efforts have begun to establish viable sources of revenue in order that the indigenous pastors and evangelists are not so dependent on outside giving. But it takes capital to generate these sources of income. And that is where they need our help.

If you would like to be a part of this dynamic ministry in Myanmar, you can send your check to Word Within International, Inc, PO Box 33178, Tulsa 74153. All of your donation will be forwarded directly to Philip who oversees the distribution to places where it is most needed. Word Within International is a 501 (c)(3) organization.
